TransCity schreef al in 2002: ‘Burgers met een Turkse, Marokkaanse, Surinaamse of andere achtergrond, willen zich herkennen in de mainstream.’ In de Nederlandse samenleving van 2002 was daarvan nog in het geheel geen sprake, en in de Nederlandse samenleving van 2017 misschien nog wel minder.
